FIELD: sealing technique. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of applying adhesive onto one side of band of expanded graphite at forming along band edges narrow races having no adhesive layer; drying off applied adhesive layer; corrugating band at simultaneously separately feeding to corrugating rolls expanded graphite and antiadhesion material applied onto band of expanded graphite ar side of adhesive layer. Said bands are in mutual contact directly in front of corrugating rolls. Adhesive is applied onto band of expanded graphite by contact way with use of applying roller having on its working surface mutually crossing helical grooves oriented one opposite to another and spaced from ends of roller. Inclination angle of helical grooves relative to roller axis is in range 5 - 12 degrees. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of sealing. 14 cl, 11 dwg
