FIELD: processes for applying adhesive onto material, possibly onto stamped tape of expanded graphite used for sealing rods of locking-regulating fittings and flanged joints. SUBSTANCE: apparatus for applying adhesive onto stamped tape of expanded graphite includes arranged on base: reel with stamped tape of expanded graphite; bath with adhesive; partially immersed into adhesive applying roller; joined with it backing roller; scraper for removing excess adhesive from surface of applying roller; receiving reel and reel with tape of antiadhesion material arranged in front of receiving reel. Elastic material in the form of small loops is secured to working surface of applying roller; backing roller is in the form of partially cut roller whose facets are mutually joined by means of arc-shaped surfaces. On one surface of stamped tape of expanded graphite layer of adhesive is applied; said layer is protected by means of easily removable antiadhesion material. Adhesive layer is applied in the form of discrete zones whose length exceeds width of tape, whose width is less than that of tape and spacing between discrete zones is equal to two length values of zone. EFFECT: elimination of tape adhering at occasional touching of its lateral edges during tape installation, prevention of tape sticking during long-term storage in packaging container and also prevention of tape slip on adhesive layer when tension effort is applied to it. 9 cl, 8 dwg
