FIELD: heat-power engineering; cooling circulating water. SUBSTANCE: mechanical-draft tower includes exhaust tower with air intake ports over perimeter of its lower portion, water catcher, water distributing system provided with convergent nozzles and located symmetrically relative to axis of tower and pool which is divided into sections by means of partitions; each of them is made from bimetal in zigzag shape, thus forming diffusers and confusers alternating in staggered order. Proposed tower enhances efficiency of cooling circulating water at varying weather conditions due to improved heat- and mass-exchange characteristics of pool especially at high temperatures of atmospheric air through maintenance of intensive heat transfer from cooling water to pool body and then to atmospheric air which is in contact with it.
