FIELD: power industry.
SUBSTANCE: fan cooling tower includes stack with air inlet openings along the perimetre of its lower part, water catcher, water-distribution system with convergent nozzles and symmetrically located relative to longitudinal axis of tower, sprinkler and reservoir divided with partitions into sections, each of which is made from bimetal in the form of zigzag so that confusers and diffusers are formed in turn in the section in staggered order. At that, water distribution system has convergent nozzles which are located in pairs and on inner surface of each nozzle of the pair there located are curved grooves which are located in longitudinal direction from larger base of the nozzle to smaller one. At that, in the first nozzle of the pair the guide of curved groove has clockwise direction, and in the second one the guide of curved groove has counter-clockwise direction.
EFFECT: improving cooling efficiency of recirculated water in fan cooling tower by intensifying the heat mass exchange process at the contact of hot water leaving the swirler with cooling air entering after the sprinkler.
