FIELD: electrical engineering; general- illumination lamps. SUBSTANCE: gas-discharge lamp has discharge torch made of optically transparent material and enclosed in glass bulb filled with metal-halide dopes and/or mercury and inert-gas containing compound with main and starting electrodes, as well as lamp-pin current leads installed at each of its ends; current leads of discharge-torch main electrodes are secured to current leads of lamp pin at certain angle to discharge-torch axis chosen from expression 40≤a≤70°, discharge torch mass, length of main-electrode to point of fixation and its diameter connected by relation where m is discharge torch mass, g; l is length of main-electrode current leads of discharge torch to point of fixation of lamp pin to current lead; d is diameter of current lead of discharge torch electrode; α is angle between current lead of main electrodes and discharge-torch axis in direction to lamp base. EFFECT: reduced cost, enhanced mechanical strength. 2 dwg, 1 tbl
