FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy; production of high-purity aluminum by three-layer electrolysis method. SUBSTANCE: proposed device has carbon bottom of plating bath used as anode, graphite cathodes immersed in bath and connected in series in longitudinal direction, shelter rectangular in plan for reducing losses of heat with passages for cathodes and metal receiver mounted at side of bath. Said shelter is made in form of three covers located in parallel relative to one another in one plane in longitudinal direction of plating bath; central cover may be removed vertically upward; side covers are turnable due to availability of articulations and are provided with flexible ceramic fibrous material laid over edge of plating bath and pressed by central cover for heat insulation and tightness. Graphite cathodes are coated with ceramic protective caps located in passages of central cover. EFFECT: high tightness of electrolyzer. 11 cl, 8 dwg
