FIELD: powder metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves atomizing melt by pressurized gas containing nitrogen and oxygen into gaseous nitrogen-oxygen medium; cooling, separating and mixing powders in nitrogen-oxygen medium. Oxygen content of atomizing gas and gaseous medium in powder deposition, separation and mixing apparatuses is maintained within the range of 0.4-1.5%. Excessive gas pressure in said apparatuses is maintained at the value of at least 100 Pa. Temperature in dust deposition apparatuses is below 140 C. Atomizing is performed with the use of pressurized gas under pressure of from 1 MPa to 3 MPa at gas flow rate per nozzle within the range of 1-3 kg and for flame cooling within the range of 0.1-0.5 kg per 1 kg of atomized metal. Melt temperature during atomization process is maintained within the range of 550-650 C. In the process of melt atomization, pressurized gas does not substantially react with molten aluminum.
