FIELD: foundry, possibly casting of any metals, particularly refractory and chemically active metals. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of preparing melt between vertical electrode and horizontal electrode by action of heat of electric arc in intermediate vessel and pouring prepared melt to crystallizer. Intermediate vessel is formed due to melting at least two horizontal consumable electrodes moving according to consuming degree towards center of crossing with axis of vertical electrode. EFFECT: enlarged technological possibilities due to making high-quality products with complex shape such as ingots, slabs, sheets and shaped billets. 1 dwg
