FIELD: metallurgy, namely foundry, possibly casting of any metals, for example refractory and chemically active metals by vacuum electric-arc refining.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of performing melting for two melting cycles. At first consumable electrode and reusable waste materials in quantity exceeding 50% of mass of the whole charge are melted for producing consumable electrodes of first melting and fused-through discs in short dead-bottom crystallizers of vacuum electric-arc turn-table plant or in furnace with bottom draining. Then second melting of consumable electrodes of first melting and said discs is realized in furnace with bottom draining for producing ready article of desired configuration. Volume of melt on fused-through disc of first melting is controlled with use of contact-free pickups of upper and lower servo systems. Mold is forced to disc before draining melt and remained part of consumable electrode and disc periphery are subjected to after-melting for filling upper part of mold and adding liquid phase to upper part of cast article for preventing occurring of pores and shrinkage holes.
EFFECT: lowered cost price of product due to reduced power consumption, shorter cycles of averaging chemical content and processing raw material, lowered quantity of waste materials, simplified technological circuit at making semi-finished products or ready articles, possibly composition articles.
