SUBSTANCE: method comprises step of preparing melt by electric arc refining of consumable electrode; rotating melt and pouring it into crystallizing zone through pouring off opening. Melt is prepared and driven to rotation in vertical crystallizer. Diameter of pouring off opening is selected according to relation D = 2Vt/νπ where D - diameter of pouring off opening, m; V - volume of surfaced melt, m3; ν -rate of melt pouring, m/s; t - time, s.
EFFECT: enlarged manufacturing possibilities, lowered power consumption due to rotation of crystallizer, stable flow of pouring off melt, stabilized process of producing semi-finished products.
