FIELD: rolled stock production, possibly restoration of rolling rolls. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of profiling roll before surfacing it by making in it three wavy grooves whose depth consists 30-40% of total height of surfaced layer. Grooves have maximum length in zones spacing by distance consisting 0.15, 0.5 and 0.85 respectively of roll barrel length from one side of barrel. In order to protect roll against oxidation, before heating roll surface is coated with oxides of calcium, aluminum or silicone. Surfacing is realized at using main and subsidiary additive wire of the same composition. Subsidiary wire is fed in mass quantity consisting 30-50% of main wire. It is possible to perform surfacing by several layers while heating them at temperature no less than 320-340C. First layer is surfaced at temperature 420-430C; second layer - at temperature 400-410 C. At applying each subsequent layer it is possible to decrease heating temperature by 10 C. After surfacing interim cooling until temperature 250-300C and tempering at temperature 500-530C are realized. At surfacing rolls may be rotated opposite relative to their working rotation direction. EFFECT: significantly increased operational strength of restored rolls. 5 cl, 1 dwg, 6 tbl, 4 ex
