FIELD: coal-chemical products. SUBSTANCE: quinaldine coming from coal tar processing is purified by adding, to quinaldine fraction, mononuclear aromatic compound of the phenol, cresol, and xylenol type followed by ctystallization of the latter with quinaldine to form adduct, which is then separated. Process is distinguished by that, before addition of mononuclear aromatic compound, quinaldine fraction is supplemented by 5 to 20% (based on the weight of quinaldine fraction) of mixture aromatic solvent or toluene. Process can be applied in chemical, petrochemical, food industries, and mechanical engineering as well as in sewage-treatment systems of industrial and household-service enterprises. EFFECT: enhanced purification efficiency. 3 cl, 1 dwg
