SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for the production of xylenes and phenol, comprising the following stages, at which: a first stream (120) of phenols containing phenol and alkyl phenols from a liquid obtained from coal is provided; separate the first stream (120) of phenols into at least a stream (130) of a phenol product containing phenol, and a stream (135) of cresols containing cresols, in the zone (125) of phenol separation; the cresol stream (135) is transalkylated with the first stream (190) of aromatic compounds containing toluene, benzol, or both, in the zone (145) of the cresol transalkylation reaction in the presence of a cresol transalkylation catalyst to form the first outgoing stream (150) containing aromatic compounds, phenol, and alkylphenols; the first outgoing stream (150) is separated into at least a second stream (170) of aromatic compounds containing aromatic compounds, and a second stream (175) of phenols containing phenol and alkylphenols, in the zone (165) of separation of phenols and aromatic compounds; the second stream (170) of aromatic compounds is separated into at least the first stream (190) of aromatic compounds and the first stream (195) of xylenes containing paraxylene, orthoxylene, and metaxylene in the aromatic compound separation zone (180) ; and feed the second stream (175) of phenols into the phenol separation zone (125). Another invention relates to a device for the production of xylenes and phenol.
EFFECT: proposed inventions are aimed at the extraction of phenols from liquids obtained from coal and their processing.
