FIELD: petroleum processing. SUBSTANCE: invention concerning thermocatalytic processing of oil stock to produce olefins and high-octane gasoline, in particular, comprises high- temperature catalytic cracking of vacuum gas oil in presence of low-octane straight-run gasoline fraction at 700-705 C and contact time 3.5 sec. Straight-run gasoline fraction is fed into contact zone in vapor phase at 460 C and vacuum gas oil is fed into contact zone in vapor-liquid phase at 360 C, ratio of vacuum gas oil to straight-run gasoline fraction being 1:2.33 and volume flow rate being no higher than 0.3 0,3h-1. To reduce emission of nitrogen oxides and formation of flue gases, the latter are continuously recycled in the system with withdrawal of balancing amounts and continuously received oxygen added in amounts required to burn off coke. Flue gases largely consisting of carbon dioxide mixed with oxygen are used also to regenerate catalyst. EFFECT: increased yield of principal low-molecular olefin hydrocarbons (ethylene, propylene, and butylenes). 3 cl, 5 tbl
