WAY TO FORM SCREEN Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: water-development works, protection of ground water against contamination with toxic or radioactive substances from pondaccumulator. SUBSTANCE: way to form screen includes arrangement of underlying layer from base ground, laying of polymer film and filling of protective layer. Layer of ground glauconite 1.0-2.0 m thick is placed on underlayer before film laying, then clayey layer 0.5-1.0 m thick is laid and layer of ground glauconite 0.6-0.7 m thick is utilized in the capacity of protective layer. EFFECT: prolonged service life of screen as compared with known designs with provision for ecological safety of underground water from contamination with toxic or radioactive substances from pond-accumulator.
