FIELD: wood working industry. SUBSTANCE: non-dried rotary-cut birch veneer, 1.5 mm thick, is impregnated with working solution of diammonium phosphate until 25-35% of dry salt is absorbed. Concentration of working solution is 45%, temperature is 60 C and duration of impregnation is 25 min. After impregnation, sheet of veneer is dipped into second "leveling" solution of diammonium phosphate, concentration 30%, at temperature of 65 C and is held in solution for 2 min. As a result, content of fire proofing in veneer becomes 22-27%. After drying, no salt stains are seen on veneer. Plywood glued from veneer sheets treated as stated above, also has no salt stains on its surface. EFFECT: provision of uniform distribution of fireproofing compound in veneer and prevention of formation of salt stains on surfaces of dried veneer. 2 cl
