METHOD OF AND PLANT FOR SEPARATION OF RUBBER FROM WORN-OUT TYRES Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: rubber industry; recovery equipment. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to re-processing of WORN-OUT tyres, including those reinforced by metal elements and it can be used for separation of rubber and its coarse grinding. According to proposed method tyres are subjected to barodestructive breaking with obtaining of pieces of rubber and metal briquettes. Metal briquettes are cleaned from rubber remnants additional after forcing out metal briquette from die. Then coarse grinding and milling of pieces and cords of rubber are carried out to open breaker metal cord and subsequent removal of metal cord by means of magnetic separation. Metal briquette is cleaned between two riffled surfaces at relative speed of displacement of riffled surface of 3-10 cm/s and specific pressure on riffles of 10-80 kgf/sq.cm. To implement said method special device is used which includes hydraulic press with working ram, containers, dies with through holes, devices for shifting of containers, turning over of dies, loading of tyres and discharge of material after processing, and magnetic separator for separation of metal briquette. Plant is furnished additionally with device for cleaning metal briquette from rubber remnants, first magnetic separator, device for removing tuber from breaker metal cord and second magnetic separator. Device for cleaning metal briquettes consists of two cones, movable and fixed ones, forming working zone between surfaces of cones of which cross riffles are made. Device for removing rubber from breaker metal cord consists of two shafts with screw cutting installed for opposite rotation, and housing with longitudinal riffles. EFFECT: improved quality of rubber crumb, reduced amount of rubber remnants in metal briquette. 3 cl, 6 dwg
