FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention is used mainly in steering systems of automobiles. Proposed steering mechanism with hydraulic booster is provided with device to adjust backlash in meshing of toothed rack and toothed sector. Said adjuster has adjusting screw threaded part is fitted in case cover and is provided with ring groove on end getting into axial hole of shaft-sector in which two cross opposite through slots are made. Segment inserts are installed in slots. Straight-like surfaces of inserts are mated with surfaces of ring groove, and radius surfaces, with inner surface of cover. Adjusting screw is locked by locknut. EFFECT: improved reliability of structure. 1 dwg
