FIELD: transport engineering; power-assisted steering mechanisms.

SUBSTANCE: proposed steering mechanism has case with row of threaded holes on side end faces and rack mechanically coupled by screw with steering shaft, sector whose shaft is installed in bearings and is furnished with working collar from side of splined part, eccentric adjusting bushings whose center is displaced relative to center of holes for bearing whose center is displaced relative to center of holes for bearings of sector shaft through value of eccentricity, and side covers. Side covers are provided with projections on axis of symmetry equidistant from center of covers in diametrical direction and installed for engagement with slots. Said slots are made on round beads on external end faces of eccentric bushings concentrically to holes for bearings of sector shaft. Slots are located on axes passing through centers of eccentric bushings and holes for bearings of sector shaft. Round slots for fastening are made on side covers relative to their center. Length of round slots is either equal to or greater than summary value of distance between threaded holes on side end faces of case arranged near each other and width of round slots. Width of round slots is either equal to or greater than summary value of diameter of threaded holes on side end faces of case and doubled value of eccentricity. Working collar of sector shaft from side of splined part is arranged in eccentric bushing. Additional collar is fitted in central hole made in side cover from side of splined part of sector shaft, concentrically to round slots.

EFFECT: improved steerability of vehicle, and reliability of construction.
