FIELD: corrosion protection. SUBSTANCE: invention provides silicate enamel for domestic- and technical-destination steel items containing, wt.%: SiO2, 38-52; Na2O, 16-24; B2O3, 13-22; Al2O3, 4-7; CaO, 2-7; Ni2O3, 1.5-2.0; Co2O3, 0.6- 1.0; Fe2O3, 1-3; MnO, 1-3; CuO, 0.25-1.0; MoO3, 0.25-1.0; ZnO, 0.25-1.0; and CdO, 0.25- 1.0. For fabrication of enamel, concentrates of man-made wastes can be used in the following ratio, wt.%: Co2O3, 9-43; MnO, 4-35; Fe2O3, 9-20; CuO, 2-6; SiO2, 3-30; CdO, 0.5-7; ZnO, 1-5; Al2O3, 1-15; CaO, 1-8; MoO3, 2-6; and Na2O., 2-11. EFFECT: improved flowability of enamel upon firing and strengthened adhesion to metal. 2 cl, 1 tbl
