FIELD: metallurgy; making isotropic electrical steels for manufacture of magnetic circuits of electric motors. SUBSTANCE: isotropic steel contains 0.7-3.3% of silicon; proposed method includes hot rolling with cogging in last pass at 13-% temperature of end of rolling not below 820 C; hot-rolled strips are cooled in the course of their motion over run-out table in air before forming rolls, thus excluding normalizing treatment with no change in level of magnetic properties of finished steel. EFFECT: low cost of steel due to reduced power requirements. 1 tbl
