FIELD: manufacture of welded tubes. SUBSTANCE: method is used for making tubes with diameter less than 20 mm and with wall thickness 0.4 mm at length values more than 6000 m. Method comprises steps of drawing metallic strip out of coil; gradually forming from it tube with lengthwise slit and welding said lengthwise slit; mutually joining leading and rear ends of large number of coils by welding; horizontally placing coils onto clamping rings secured to rotating receiving drum; continuously drawing metallic band of pieces mutually welded by their leading and rear ends. Plant includes large number of clamping rings arranged one over another; first ring is arranged on receiving plate. Plant is provided with means for feeding end of core to leading end of coil arranged at higher level. EFFECT: possibility for making small-diameter large-length tubes. 13 cl, 6 dwg
