CARCASS FORMING METHOD AND DRUM FOR MANUFACTURE OF VEHICLE WHEEL TIRES Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC B29D30/36 B29D30/24 

FIELD: tire industry; pneumatic tires.

SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method, the following operations are carried out when assembling vehicle wheel tires: a) hose member of carcass is installed in required position of shaping drum: b) carcass hose member is secured on shaping drum: c) toroidal form is rendered to carcass hose member; d) pairs of side strips are applied to side surfaces of carcass hose member of definite form; e) outer hose member is applied to radial outer surface of carcass hose member. When carrying out at least at one of said operations, namely c), d) and e), carcass hose member is held in centered position of shaping drum under action of axial forces directed axially to inner surfaces of hose member. When carrying out one of operations a) and b) at which carcass hose member is installed accordingly in required position and fixed on shaping drum, hose member of carcass is held centered position on shaping drum by radial forces directed radially relative to inner surface of hose member. Method includes operation f) for fitting side strips in required position on shaping drum. Each side strip is installed so that its axial inner edges are arranged in axial direction inwards relative to beads of carcass hose member. Invention contains description of type shaping drum, two other versions of implementing the method and tire assembling set.

EFFECT: provision of centered of reinforcement member of bead on its inner surface when assembling the tire.
