FIELD: iron ore processing equipment. SUBSTANCE: method involves directing ground wet iron ore through drying zone, with ore temperature at drying zone discharge end being in the range of from 120 C to 400 C; heating ore by providing direct contact with hot gas to temperature of from 700 C to 1,100 C prior to feeding ore to reduction zone; passing the entire volume or part of ore discharged from drying zone through separating device and separating large-sized ore fraction from small-sized fraction; charging small-sized ore fraction into pelletizing device to produce iron ore granulate; feeding said granulate to drying zone; heating large-sized ore fraction to temperature of from 700 C to 1,100 C prior to feeding it to reduction zone. Method provides obtaining of iron ore containing only low amounts of small- sized fraction, which are not capable of hindering reduction process. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of preparing iron ore for reduction process. 8 cl, 1 dwg, 1 ex
