FIELD: machine engineering. SUBSTANCE: face chuck includes housing and two flange halves. One flange half is provided with cover and it is mounted in housing with use of bearing assemblies. Carriages spring-loaded relative to housing and joined with elastic members are arranged in guides of flange half and of cover. Said guides are radial ones; elastic members have variable width lowered from periphery of face chuck according to calculation formula given in description of invention. Upon operation of grinding disc carriage moves in guides. Distance from axis of face chuck until carriage changes and it causes change of circumferential rigidity of elastic connection link between grinding disc and housing. Change of circumferential rigidity of face chuck is provided due to selected cross sections of elastic members. EFFECT: improved design of grinding disc allowing to enhance quality of ground surface due to minimized changes of dynamics of macrogeometry of working surface of grinding disc. 2 dwg, 1 ex
