TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM RAIL Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

Abstract RU 2204640 C1

FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to elevated and overhead transportation systems using rail track structures. According to proposed invention, rail contains hollow tubular housing 1 accommodating prestressed stretched load-bearing elements 2 in form of rods, wire ropes or wires, and free spaces are filled up with hard monolithic material 4. Part of stretched load-bearing elements 2 or all said elements are arranged inside housing of rail to form contact with inner surface of its wall over line of application of movable load. Stretched load-bearing elements 2 can be furnished with adaptive envelopes made of elastically deformable material two which can be arranged preferably symmetrically relative to line of application of normal component of movable rail load from vehicle carrying wheels. EFFECT: improved stability of rail load-bearing capacity. 3 cl, 2 dwg
