FIELD: oil producing industry; applicable in repair of flowing wells equipped with electric centrifugal pumps. SUBSTANCE: method includes actuation of shutoff unit of shutoff valve with sealed wellhead and immovable tubing string by command from surface and building up pressure inside tubing string for moving upward of electric centrifugal pump. Lower part of electric centrifugal pump is connected with pusher. Power cylinder is used for moving electric centrifugal pump upward from position providing communication of producing formation with well cavity to position in which producing formation is disconnected from well cavity. Then wellhead is depressurized and tubing string is lifted together with electric centrifugal pump. Device for method embodiment includes pusher connected with lower part of electric centrifugal pump, movable rod with flow section ensuring passage of pumped fluid, and movable rod lock. Device has relief valve and additional pistons located on movable rod, lock of upper position of movable rod and dropping shutoff member, all forming power cylinder. Movable rod is connected with electric centrifugal pump. Movable rod is upper locked position is engageable with shutoff unit of relief valve to open its holes communicating tubing cavity with well cavity.
