FIELD: mining industry; applicable in opencast mining of coal flat-dipping and inclined deposits with use of combined automobile-railway transport. SUBSTANCE: method includes working of group of upper benches of opencast with loading of overburden rocks into railway transport facilities and their subsequent transportation from opencast to dump; working of group of lower benches of opencast with locating of overburden rocks into dump trucks and delivery to transfer points constructed on opencast nonmining flank on temporary pillars of opencast working flank with subsequent loading of rock at transfer points into railway facilities and transportation to dump, being zone of use of combined transports; stage by stage development of mining operations in opencast with transfer of intraopencast transfer points, increased depth of railway transport introduction into opencast and accomplishing of stages with use of above described technology. Excavator-hopper transfer pointed includes unloading platform for dump trucks with dump and reserve sections, receiving vessel, excavator platform with dragline excavator on it and loading platform with hopper and railway track. Transfer point is made in the form of hoisting and transfer of overburden rocks in which unloading platform is located on horizon of unloading of dump trucks located in lower part of zone of use of combined transport, and excavator platform is located on end flank of opencast above said horizon at height determined by adopted relationship. Invention makes it possible to increase annual volume of transferred overburden rocks on excavator-hopper-transfer point improve operating conditions of automobile transport and to increase its efficiency and efficiency of locomotives.
