METHOD OF MANUFACTURE OF BEARING SUPPORT UNITS Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: mining; applicable in underground mining for construction of bearing support in protection of development workings in beds up to 1.2 m thick. SUBSTANCE: method includes manufacture of unit from wood members and its binding with flexible connections. First, material of unit members is compacted and compressed to produce prestresses in unit structure. Then structure is bound with said strong flexible ties with preserved internal preliminary thrust in material of members. EFFECT: increased bearing capacity and reduced expenditures for construction of protective structure.
