FIELD: mining; increase of stability and service life of rooms. SUBSTANCE: method includes construction of support internal rigid shell, driving of relieving workings on both sides of chamber at level of room arch, one working under chamber bottom and drilling holes parallel to room walls and bottom from workings. Drilled in marginal rock mass at angle to each vertical and horizontal holes is one inclined hole on each side. Provided round room walls and bottom is yielding belt from rows of fan- bunch holes with fan opening not exceeding distance between their rows. Required number of rows with consideration of combined relief effect from workings and holes is determined by offered formula. EFFECT: increased stability of workings due to more uniform relief of their contours from strains and stresses. 3 dwg
