FIELD: seismology, possible use for predicting earthquakes.

SUBSTANCE: in accordance to method, radiations of substrate surface are recorded in spectral bands on successive coils of flight of spacecraft. Resulting array of measurements is formed. Modulating function of tracked signal is selected. Additionally astronauts perform visual detection of flashes of night horizon by means of video camera, coaxial with multi-spectrometer. Measured also are dispersions of signals of overhead spectral bands of radiation of nitrogen and oxygen and their total along flight route in detected areas. Hypocenter of source is assigned to coordinates of maximal curvature of registered total dispersion graph. Time of impact and magnitude are calculated.

EFFECT: increased speed and trustworthiness of prediction.
