FIELD: biochemical methods. SUBSTANCE: method is characterized by involving preparation of peptide or protein suspension without seeds and at least twofold homogenization of the suspension under pressure 50000 to 150000 kPa to form peptide or protein microcrystals 0.5 to 4 mcm in size, which may be used as seed microcrystals for production of corresponding peptide or protein. This method can be employed in preparation of microcrystals of such peptides as insulin, GLP-1, glucagon, and growth hormones. Invention, in particular, provides human insulin microcrystals as well as a method for preparing peptides or proteins using microcrystals of invention. EFFECT: facilitated production of high-purity peptides or proteins. 12 cl, 1 dwg, 5 tbl, 5 ex
