FIELD: petroleum processing. SUBSTANCE: invention concerns production of motor fuels as well as heavy distillates being components of residual fuels and raw material for catalytic processes. Fractions with boiling ranges 14-370 C and 250-500 C are isolated from oil feedstock and subjected to double-stage hydrogenation processing in presence of catalyst until degree of desulfurization 50-60% and degree of destruction 15- 40% in the first stage and correspondingly 90-95 and 15-40 in the second stage are attained. Middle- distillate fraction recovered from hydrogenizate is then combined with fraction 140-370 C isolated from initial feedstock at ratio between 40: 60 and 95-5. EFFECT: produced motor fuels meeting diesel fuel requirements. 3 cl, 3 ex
