FIELD: analytical methods in biotechnology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to determining consumption of sugars in the course of callus culture growing. Sample of agarized nutrient medium is preliminarily melted at 50 C and treated at vigorous stirring with 100% acetonitrile until of small flakes of agar appeared, which are further extracted by adding water to produce concentration of acetonitrile in extractant equal to 64-70 vol.%. EFFECT: accelerated swelling-off of agarized media and degree of their sampling, which leads to increased degree of extraction of sugars thereby increasing their determination accuracy. 3 cl
