SUBSTANCE: narrow-band fiber-optical filter for demultiplexing and multiplexing optical signals ensures narrow bandwidth of filter with rectangular form of light transmission or reflection spectrum. Narrow-band fiber-optical filter includes single-mode optical fiber with side polishing contacting periodic grating located in region of propagation of optical mode of fiber. Periodic grating has sinusoidally modulated amplitude and phase shifts π arranged periodically. For obtainment of rectangular reflection spectrum amplitude of grating has maximum in center of polished section, for obtainment of rectangular transmission spectrum amplitude of grating has minimum in center of polished section. Periodic grating with sinusoidally modulated amplitude and phase shifts π arranged periodically can be realized either in the form of refractive index grating or in the form of relief grating with spatially modulated amplitude or relative pulse duration.
