FIELD: power electronics; checking thyristors for condition. SUBSTANCE: in checking conducting state of thyristors incorporated in converter with pulse-phase control system normal condition of thyristor can be recognized by coincidence of logic signals of which one is signal corresponding to thyristor control pulse and other one is pulse of first derivative of thyristor anode current. Serviceability check of thyristors made in due time enables taking adequate measures for protecting them and converter as a whole. EFFECT: enhanced reliability and reduced time of check. 1 cl, 2 dwg
