FIELD: detection of foreign formations in ground, personnel mine, in particular. SUBSTANCE: ground is irradiated by multifrequency source of SHF energy which is moved together with detector of thermal energy above surface of ground. At least two successive measurements of ground temperature are taken periodically in point of observation. Difference in temperatures of two successive measurements is established and integrated, difference of temperatures is divided by integrated difference, obtained value is compared with specified threshold value. If threshold value is exceeded limits of temperature increment are recorded. EFFECT: raised detection reliability. 1 dwg, 1 tbl
