FIELD: cutting equipment. SUBSTANCE: drive includes frame with two shafts supported in bearings. Lower ends of shafts carry cams. Part of cam profile comes in the form of Archimedean spiral. Shafts carry counterweights and engaged gears. Frame is equipped with spring interacting in turn with rests anchored on back of knife. Cutting apparatus comprises upper and lower knives. Upper knife has vertical axle with bearing interacting in sequence with cams and installed on side of drive. Starts of spiral sections of cams are located on axial line passing through centers of their rotation. Cams are developed about axial line through 180 degrees relative one another. Saw blades are positioned between upper and lower straps. EFFECT: provision for knife motion with constant speed which enhances reliability of cutting process and prolongs service life of apparatus. 4 dwg
