CORN HARVESTING METHOD Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves removing top part of stalk; separating corn cob; cutting and grinding stalk. Top part of stalk is cut by means of additional cutter bar mounted laterally of harvesting machine, higher than main cutter bar, at cutting level commensurate with stalk length within the range of 0.46-0.70. It results in reduced delivery of stalk mass into tearing unit of header part of harvesting machine. Width of additional cutter bar is multiple the width of header. Method allows harvesting process to be carried out with combines free of additional cutter bars. EFFECT: increased efficiency and wider operational capabilities. 3 dwg
