FIELD: mechanization of harvest works.
SUBSTANCE: method involves providing gripping of stems with feeding chain catches; introducing gripped stems into gap between pulling rolls and plates; pulling stem with cob by means of rolls in downward direction; separating cob and throwing it by means of feeding chain catches into screw. Separation of fruit stem is performed between pair of conveyors rotating in opposite directions, with direction of working surfaces coinciding with stem pulling direction. Cob and conveyor collision velocity is determined from formula: V b.col.=Vst-Vcon, where Vst is stem velocity; Vcon is conveyor velocity.
EFFECT: increased capacity of cob separating apparatus and reduced damage to cobs and shelling out of corn grain.
