FIELD: welding systems, possibly used for rescue works, in field condition and in home when there are no power sources. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes thin-wall tube having at one side thermit mixture in the form of pressed rod with envelope of combustible film material. Plug closes other end of tube. Thin-wall tubular casing-holder may be replaced from opposite sides onto tube until limiting stop. One end of rod is arranged in said tube. Depending upon composition of rod it is possible to perform welding, surfacing and cutting of metal. EFFECT: enhanced conditions for exploitation, transporting and storing, enlarged manufacturing possibilities of welding process. 2 dwg
