FIELD: mechanical engineering; welding. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for welding articles in hard to reach places. Mixture is formed from the following components: aluminium powder with size of particles from 0.05 to 0.25 mm and powder of mixed ferrous oxide with size of particles from 0.1 to 0.3 mm preliminarily hardened during 2-3 h at temperature of 550- 600 C. ratio of powders in mixture is, respectively, 1: (3.1-3.5). Then 10- 11 mass % of 10 - 12 % water solution of polyvinyl alcohol is added to mixture which is then dried for 2-4 h at temperature from 20 to 50 C and pressed to form rods at 2500 - 2800 kg/cm2. Rods, thus formed, are subjected to calcinations for 1-2 h at temperature of 150-250 C. EFFECT: provision of compact rods easy to fire uniform burning and high-quality welding. 1 ex
