FIELD: inorganic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of mineral salts, in part, calcium chloride. Method involves conversion of potassium chloride and calcium nitrate where potassium nitrate is isolated by cooling, remained mother liquor is evaporated and cooled with isolation of binary salt KNO3•CaCl2•2H2O that after separation from mother liquor is fed to onset of the process. In the parent mixture calcium nitrate is taken in excess to its stoichiometric amount in the mole ratio Ca(NO3)2 : KCl ≥ 1.2:2. Method provides the complete conversion of potassium chloride and calcium nitrate. Invention can be used in working chemical plants, in part, in processing phosphate ores by nitric acid method.
