FIELD: pipe-line transport. SUBSTANCE: gear indicating positions of intrapipe objects includes power supply source, low-frequency generator of electromagnetic oscillations and series LC circuit connected in series. Generator has keys controlled electronically and key control circuit, LC circuit is connected to power supply source through keys controlled electronically. Method of employment of proposed gear is characterized by emission of low-frequency electromagnetic oscillations inside or outside of pipe- line and their reception on side opposite relative to wall of pipe-line. Electromagnetic oscillations are emitted by way of excitation of oscillations in LC circuit connected periodically to outputs of power supply source in step with period of resonance oscillations in this circuit with alternation of connection polarity depending on phase of oscillations in circuit. Operating condition of LC circuit with emission of electromagnetic oscillations is alternated with operating condition of LC circuit without emission of electromagnetic oscillations. Mentioned-above operating conditions of LC circuit are changed over by way of break or restoration of connection of output of LC circuit at certain time moment away from moment of voltage resonance peak by not more than 0.05 period of resonance oscillations in LC circuit. EFFECT: increased efficiency of detection of intrapipe objects and prolonged operation of transceiver without replacement of power supply source, raised functional potential of transceiver, specifically, capability to establish two-way communication with intrapipe objects. 29 cl, 2 dwg
