FIELD: construction industry, location of drifts used to punch holes in ground. SUBSTANCE: rotating magnetic field is excited with the help of radiator positioned on drift or near it. Field is rotated so that rotation plane of vector of magnetic moment of radiator is perpendicular to axis of drift. Position of this plane in space is found with the aid of directional properties of antennas located on ground surface. At least two planes moved apart in space above drift are determined. In three points of each plane as minimum relative delay of signals between antennas oriented in similar way and located in these point is equal to zero. Crossing line of these planes that coincides with axis of drift is found and its course and pitch are established. Crossing point of this line with rotation plane of vector of magnetic moment of radiator determined in advance establishes its position. Gear for realization of this technique includes radiator of rotating magnetic field put on drift or near it, two antennas oriented in similar way and positioned on ground surface, two-channel receiver, computer, meter and two indicators. Outputs of antennas are correspondingly connected to inputs of channels of receiver, outputs of corresponding channels are connected to inputs of computer which output is connected to input of first indicator. Outputs of channels of receiver are connected to inputs of delay meter which output is connected to input of second indicator. EFFECT: increased accuracy of establishment of position, course and pitch of drift. 3 cl, 4 dwg
