FIELD: electrical engineering; low-temperature plasma generation for wire-surface coating. SUBSTANCE: plasma generator has case accommodating coaxially mounted electrode holder, pin cathode secured in electrode holder for displacement along vertical axis of plasma generator, external shielding-gas feeding nozzle with conical bottom part, and internal plasma-generation nozzle. Internal nozzle is provided with channels tilted through 8-14 deg. to vertical axis of plasma generator and external nozzle has holes along its conical-part circumference. These holes are spaced from lower end of external nozzle through 0.2-0.3 of its conical part generating line length. Proposed design ensures reliable focusing of plasma jet. EFFECT: enhanced use factor of evaporated material and plasma jet energy; reduced wear of internal and external nozzles. 2 cl, 1 dwg
