SUBSTANCE: invention relates to novel hydroxy- and polyhydroxy-derivatives of coumarin condensed with dialdehydes and aldehyde acids of the general formulas (I) , (II) , (III) and (IV) where R¹ = R² mean 4-hydroxycoumarin; R¹ = R² mean 4,7-dihydroxycoumarin; R¹ = = R² mean 4,5,7- trihydroxycoumarin; R¹ means 4-hydroxycoumarin; R² means CH(OH)-CH₃. Invention relates also to method for preparing compounds of the general formulas (I), (II), (III) and (IV). These compounds elicit an antiviral effect with respect to human immunodeficiency virus-1 (HIV-1). Invention provides preparing novel compounds with an antiviral effect.
