FIELD: determination of stressed deformed state of articles by residual magnetization; determination of residual welding stresses and deformation. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes measurement of normal component of magnetic field intensity at points located at equal distance relative to one another in each channel, determination of respective gradients and calculation of respective magnetic parameters by weighted means values and magnetic magnitudes of gradients of normal component of magnetic field intensity in each channel and between these channels. Magnetic parameters thus obtained are compared with critical magnetic parameters determined as ratio of gradients of normal component of magnetic field intensity corresponding to definite limits of strength and yield of specimen under test. Method includes also determination of limiting time of operation of article under test. EFFECT: extended field of application; reduced labor consumption. 6 dwg
