FIELD: measurement technology; quality control.
SUBSTANCE: method involves measuring magnetic field intensity in article in the direction coinciding with given residual stress direction. Further, zero magnetic field intensity lines are fixed, magnetic field intensity gradient magnitude is measured along these lines at given equal distance lk from each line on both sides over segment lk length. The received article gradient values are compared to gradient value calculated in addition on test sample manufactured from the same metal, as that of the article. Maximum residual stress concentration zone is determined from maximum gradient values difference between article and test sample. Then, found zones risk degree is determined.
EFFECT: high accuracy in determining maximum residual stress concentration zones and estimating risk level in the detected stress-strain state zones.
