Abstract RU 2207654 C1

FIELD: microwave devices such as O- type traveling-wave tubes. SUBSTANCE: traveling-wave tube has electron gun, vacuum envelope, periodic magnetic focusing structure incorporating cells of alternating annular magnets and tips, input section of slow-wave structure, high-frequency energy lead-in, collimator disposed between electron gun, high-frequency energy lead-in, and input section of slow-wave structure. In order to protect input section of slow-wave structure during ON/OFF operations or in case of beam current reduction and to facilitate current passage through traveling-wave tube under working conditions, inner part of collimator is made in the form of stepped body of revolution built of several cylindrical parts, position of originating projection of collimator with smaller diameter being in coincidence with that of cell center of periodic magnetic focusing structure.
